New Year – New Garden!

As the weather turns even colder and you’re more inclined to stay inside than try and brave it in the garden, now is a great time to start thinking about your garden. You may decide that 2022 is the year that your visions and aspirations for your garden will become a reality. You may have moved into a new house, spent the autumn and winter putting your finishing touches to the interior and are now turning your attention to the exterior and dreaming of long summer evenings entertaining friends at your new home. Whatever your motivation, creating a garden is a hugely exciting process and although it’s tempting to think of tackling the job yourself but it can be incredibly useful to see your plot through the eyes of a professional garden designer.  A garden designer will bring your ideas together with both a creative and practical eye and, using a range of skills, design a garden or an element of your garden that brings great pleasure and importantly is built with longevity at the core.

At McNulty & Stonebridge, the initial client meeting is paramount; it is the time to listen to our clients, understand their likes, dislikes, thoughts and inspirations for the gardens. We always welcome any materials such as photographs of gardens they like, favourite plants and colours, even an insight into the interior of the house can be hugely beneficial as it is key that the garden and the house work in cohesion. We never rush this initial meeting as it is so important that we understand our clients from an early stage. It is important that we get to know our client’s personality, as well as their likes and dislikes and practical requirements. Likewise, our clients must be comfortable with us as people and designers as, after all, they are entrusting us with turning their visions into a reality.

However, garden designers aren’t just for those with large gardens – we enjoy working on gardens of all shapes, sizes, locations and types. No two gardens are the same and neither are our clients! We will be able to help you make the most of your garden and offer advice and solutions for all elements of the design, hard landscaping options to how to light certain areas and features. We will also be able to put together a selection of plants that will suit the climate, soil and aspect of your garden.

And hiring a garden designer doesn’t need to be the whole ‘bells and whistles’ package either – at McNulty & Stonebridge we offer a remote service for those clients who perhaps just want advice on one border to be planted up, or for those who have their ideas but just want to run them past someone with additional expertise, or simply for those based just that bit further away from our base here in the South West of the UK.

Whatever your needs and wants for your garden project, turn the dark days of January into opportunities to keep warm, get the gardening magazines out for inspiration and dream of summer days spent enjoying your new outdoor spaces with friends and family. And if we can be of any help then please do get in touch! https://mcnultystonebridge.com/contact/
